Five Don’ts When Planning an Event
Five Don’ts When Planning an Event – when you are planning an event or wedding, it is important to take steps before you sign on the dotted line with the venue. Here are some of our top tips:
- Don’t plan an event without checking to see if your event is going to be held on the same weekend as a marathon or huge convention in town? Hotels are hard to secure when this happens and traffic can be a nightmare.
- Don’t book anything before you set your budget first. There is nothing worse, then finding your dream venue and finding out that it is outside your budget.
- Don’t sign any venue agreements until you determine your highest guest count number. You want to make sure that your guest count will work with the venue.
- Don’t sign the venue contract until you verify that you have enough setup time. This is always a huge challenge with hotels and venues. They want to maximize their profit margin, however, your vendors are going to need time for lighting, special decor, stage and three hour to six hour setups are challenging to say the least. When this happens, your labor costs will skyrocket.
- Don’t book a venue that is going to have any renovations during your event date. Make sure that you have this in writing.
