Event Planner Los Angeles
Event Planner Los Angeles – Frequently, I am asked about my current planning tips for planning an event or wedding. Having worked in the event industry for over 20 years, which includes seven years at Sony Pictures Entertainment planning live game shows and special events. Here is a partial list to help unpack important planning details:
Event Planning tips:
- If you have gotten engaged, don’t post any announcements on social media until you have first told your parents, family and close friends.
- Avoid showing your engagement ring on Social Media unless it is close family and friends. You don’t want to open yourself up to the photos ending up in the wrong hands.
- Before you start planning, please set a budget and determine your guest count. Once you have these established, verify with a credible event planning company (we do it all the time) to make sure that the budget and guest count match based on your vision.
- Set a date, but first talk with family and close friends to make sure that there are no conflicts.
- Determine the end time for your event. If you want to go late, a private estate is not the best choice since the end times are usually 10 pm, unless the estate is isolated or has a ballroom that won’t disturb the neighbors.
- Once you have checked-off the list above, then start your search for your venue – it will make it easier to know whether you are having your wedding or special event at a hotel, country club or private estate. Please note, you can hire an event planner to assist with the search if you don’t have the time or need additional assistance.
- If you are on a strict budget, we don’t recommend having your event at a private property, since everything must be brought-in from the rentals, food, kitchen equipment, heaters, etc.
- After you find your ideal venue, hire an event planner to guide you on your vendor agreements, planning challenges, event insurance and help keep you and your fiancé stress free.
- Once you book the venue, send out your save the dates to your family and friends, so they can start planning their vacations and/or travel schedules accordingly.
- Check-out all your event professionals before you hire them. We recommend using Yelp and Google searches to learn more about their work and client’s recommendations.
