Event and Wedding Planning Tips – planning an event is serious business.  Finding the right venue that will allow you to have your dream event is important and making sure that your contract with the venue spells out all of your planning needs.

Here are some tips before you plan your event:

1. Make sure that your venue gives you enough time for the setup.  There is nothing more stressful and costly to book your ideal venue, then find that you are limited with setup time.
2. Have your experienced planner review your venue contract before you sign it to ensure that everything is correct.  We also recommend having a lawyer take a look at it so you are covered.
3. Fashion trends –  try and avoid being too trendy.  When I look back at some of the gowns and shoes that were the rage at weddings 10-15 years ago, today they look dated, but at the time they were in fashion. I love to stick with the classic styles.
4. When you are hiring your event professionals for your wedding, make sure that they do weddings on a regular basis, especially if they are a photographer and videographer.  There is nothing worse, than having a live event and having your videographers or photographers leave the room right before a critical time.
5. Wedding Rehearsals – If you are planning a wedding, please make sure that your planner has all of the names of your wedding party in the correct order. This will cut down on rehearsal time. Your family and bridal party don’t want to try and figure out who gets paired-up by their height, etc.  Your family and friends want to finish getting ready and start the weekend festivities.
